Hello everybody. I bought tracktion 7 and would like to use it in French but I have configured my computer without internet connection. I have wrote to tracktion support and they said me that :

Hi there, do you have a machine with T7 running on with an Internet connection?
If so, the easiest thing to do is:
1) Open T7
2) Go to the Settings tab then the General Behaviour page
3) Click "Get Additional Languages" and then choose "French" from the list (this will download the language file)
4) Find the translation file in Windows Explorer by opening "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Tracktion 4\Translations"
5) Copy the "French.lang" file to a USB stick or similar
6) Copy the file to the same location on the offline computer (you may need to create the "Translations" directory)
7) Open T7 on the offline computer, go to General Behaviour Settings page and select "French" form the "Language" dropdown

Alternatively, if you don't have T7 installed on an online computer you can go to http://wiki.tracktion.com/index.php?title=French and copy the contents to a "Franch.lang" file to transfer to the offline computer yourself.

I do this but it's not work !!! there is not language scroll. The only proposition is always english

help !!!!! :?

I've copied the data from the wiki and put it into a file called hungarian.lang. When I opened T7, French was added to the list of languages. Did you paste everything from the box on the wiki page?
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Hi ! thanks for the reply . I paste everything but maybe the problem can come from another thing(I hope I can explain me correctly....) I copy the text on the wiki page, paste it on a notepad file and finaly save it with the name "french.lang" but I must do it in "Unicode" and not in "ANSI" else some transcription would have been modified....
Finaly saved in the good location >>C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Tracktion 4\Translations

something wrong with my procedure ?

I'll tell you what I did, step by step. It'll only take you a minute to try it. I didn't get asked whether I wanted ANSI or Unicode.

1. With File Explorer, I navigated to the Translations folder.
2. Right-clicked on the background, chose New, and Text Document.
3. Renamed it to French.txt.
4. Double-clicked to open it.
5. Pasted in the wiki language data.
6. Saved and closed the file.
7. Renamed it to French.lang

See if that helps.

Thank you !
I just solve the problem !!! I use the french.lang of an old tracktion3 installation . Delete the text and copy the new. So renamed only "french"
I think the problem came from the fact that the file was "french.lang.txt"(text file) and not "french.lang" (lang file) ....very strange but now all work. Hope it can serve anyone else....

Hi!

Download the links below, the required file "*.lang" in the folder "Translations" ("C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Tracktion 4\Translations").

http://wiki.tracktion.com/index.php/Translations

The translation should work after switching to the program settings menu. For self-creation of the file "*.lang" of your language based on the data from wiki.tracktion.com, I will later write detailed instructions. Good luck! ;)

The above files "*.lang" are applicable for the product "Tracktion T7" and not only! Experiment with other versions, I think everything will work for 100%!

And so, let's get started! Promised detailed instructions on how to make yourself a file "*.lang".
I will not describe the steps from the posts above. I will describe the process of creating the file "*.lang" itself with the desired language.

Part two. Choose your language, then on the page that appears, select all the text from the word "language:" to the very end of the page with the terminating string "User canceled". Note that there is a lot of text on the page, so have patience to hold the mouse button down to the very bottom of the page! Next, copy the selected text and paste it into the Notepad program.
In the "Save As" menu of Notepad (OS Windows):
1. Open the folder in the good location >>C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Tracktion 4\Translations.

2. Next, in the same dialog box, in the "File type" line, select (All files "*"), below change the encoding from ANSI to UTF-8.

3. You must specify the name of the file in the form Language Name + ".lang" (without quotes), for example, "French.lang". I have prepared a list of items specifically for you below - select your own. ;)

Arabic.lang
Chinese (Simplified).lang
Chinese (Traditional).lang
English (Alternative).lang
French.lang
German.lang
Irish.lang
Japanese.lang
Latin.lang
Italian.lang
Portuguese.lang
Spanish.lang
Russian.lang

4. Next, click on "Save". All is ready! You can play. Do not forget to choose your language in the program settings. ;)
