I've tried to phrase my problem, but after ten minutes of rephrasing, deleting and re-rephrasing I gave up and decided to ask the question without explaining, what happens in the plugin.
I now realise, that the restart position of this running bar in the signal graph section is related to the number of steps in the step sequencer and the length parameter in the synchronisation tab. But I don't understand how. It surely does not start a 0 when the DAW "enters" a new beat.
What is the algorithm, that determines the restart position of the bar in the signal graph window?

At the moment, the phase needs to be at 180° in order to start at the beginning of the sequence. The sequence itself has six steps, which makes me think, that the formula behind this is not very hard to find out, it's just not the thing you want to do while making music.
Maybe I give it another try tomorrow.
