i've recently updated/installed 'MUX v6', been a while since i've even used v5. pretty much starting from scratch, never used it too much to begin with.
i'm trying to "Add VST plug-ins", but this only brings me to the root of my C: drive. how can i direct it to my Documents folder where my custom VST folder is?
i had this working in v5, i've even copied my old v5 User folder like it says to when updating versions in the MUX Docs. doesn't seem like that had any effect.
been a while... some questions

Are you asking how the file browser works? It's the same as in all previous versions of MuLab / MUX and quite compliant with how a standard file browser works.
FYI: Your VST plugin database is stored in User/Settings/VstPlugins.xml
You can check it via the OS file explorer/finder.

just figured it out a few minutes ago. my "Users" folder in the C: directory was "Hidden", which i'm guessing it wasn't showing up inside the MUX browser. unchecked it and then manually dragged it into the browser (i think this was necessary? maybe not), then i was able to scan for VSTs.
i'm sure i'll have some more questions, so i'll be back once i've spent some more time with it.
thanks!
