M7: Mux front panel vs modular view issues

Hello! I am using Mux inside Mulab.

I can't make use of the front panels because they do not allow for full sized elements for example a full blown mixer strips or a rack or level meter. I always end up a bunch of named rectangles and process buttons instead which is useless for me. How is this possible?

If I choose to go straight into the modular view, I always get the front panel showing up first (which is blank since I can't use it effectively).

I think I can go around the problem by minimizing my mux into the toolbar at the bottom but I am losing screen real estate..

Any suggestions please? I would love to know how I can work better.

Thanks!

Sounds like you are just dragging modules/items from the modular view onto your front panels, instead of dragging, right click inside the front panel and select ADD COMPONENT

Ugliness, however, goes right the way through

OK I got it. Right clicking doesn't work though. I just get CAN'T ADD THAT.

But I found out how to drap the elements.

Its just very tricky to get to the right place in the element picture that can be embedded in the front panel otherwise it's just a rectangle.

For the mixer strip for example, the only place I can drag is in the dark VU meter, nothing else will work (sliders, buttons, frame etc..won't work).

So I guess I'm going back and experiment! Glad you could help me make it work! Thanks

Sorry about the double post, internet issues at work.
Not everything can be added individually to the front panel, the "right click/add component menu" tells you what can be.
For example the mixer strip gets added as a whole, that is, you cant seperate the mute, pan etc from it, its the same for a few of the modules.
edit
I should say that, yes, some things can be dragged so its a combination really of dragging and using the menu.
Any questions just ask.
