for live performance i use a acer laptop and m-audio firewire410, but i want something smaller (and safer):
i am thinking in changing the firewire410 for echo indigo i/o and a small mixer (behringer ¿?¿)
is this a good idea ¿?¿

I have the echo I/O and the small Behrenger UB502 for my laptop. It's a workable solution for me, but I wouldn't say it's a portable setup since the Behrenger needs to plugged in. I'd probably stay with the 410 as long as drivers were stable.

for me, the problem with firewire is the ridiculous and fragile 4pin connector on most pc-laptops (a little movement in a live situation and you are out...).
the echo pcmcia solution seems much more serious....
on the other hand, my pcmcia slot is just next to the firewire and usb ports, so with the echo indigo, which has lateral connections, maybe i cant use anymore my firewire/usb harddisk ¿?¿¿?¿¿?¿?¿?¿?
