Haven't tried it yet but it looks pretty good:

It seems to be free, which is great for starters. Anyone tried it yet? What are your thoughts?

I've tried it. Its pretty basic and good for beginners. The free version is pretty limited considering there is only loop builder view and no timeline view. There is a 10 dollar version which unlocks it. It handles loops well and syncs the Tempo and Key. Seems to be good for beginners.

I like Free Studio One Prime and Caustic 3 Desktop version (Free) Better though.

I was going to install it but if it's that limited it's not worth it. Caustic 3 is indeed really good considering it's free, Podium Free is probably the best free DAW for Windows imo.

I think Tracktion 5 is the best free DAW since it has no limitations at all other than the fact that its older version of Tracktion.

I forgot about Traktion 5, probably because I don't like its GUI and workflow. But yeah, indeed the best.
