Ok folks, maybe you can help me out, and please forgive me for asking a question that ( I think) doesn't really come from Tracktion 7 itself.
I am using two MIDI devices. For some reason, all I see going into Tracktion is the note on/off messages, and no CC messages. I want to use MIDI learn to assign a function or two, and I could not get it to work for this reason. And when I use my guitar synth to record MIDI data there is no pitch bend data coming in, only note on/off.
In other DAWs I have used, there are filters that can filter out this data but I can't find that in Tracktion. Am I missing this? I am using the USB ports on my computer to connect my MIDI devices.
I ran MIDI OX to take a look at the data stream, and it seems to confirm to me that my computer is only responding to note on/off, it doesn't show ANY CC data coming in either! That is why I don't think my problem lies within Tracktion, but is in my system somewhere, and I don't know what is going on!
Does anyone have any input on this? Thanks in advance.

Often synths and midi devices allow you to select the level of messages you want to be sent AND received from MIDI. It's possible you have set it to something other than "all". For instance, options might be present:
1. Notes only
2. Notes plus CC
3. Notes plus CC + continuous controller "pressure" + program change
4. Notes, all CC, plus sysex messages
This may be a selection like above, or there may be on/off on each of the individual types. Things like aftertouch can generate a LOT of MIDI traffic; Sysex you may not WANT to accidentally be sent between devices.

Thank you Peter, yes, it was related to that. I've got it figured out now...like most matters of this type, it's almost always operator error! And it was, a setting in my controller. I have it working now.
