Hey folks,
let's share stuff we come up with using the new modulators. You can put attachments directly into posts (need to zip the presets first) or just describe interesting ways to patch things up.
Here's two using the Note Echo device. Instant Harp-eggiator first repeats notes and then feeds an arpeggiator (that goes into a Polysynth) to make harp style frills and Velocity Rudiments repeats notes a number of times based on velocity (good for drum rolls/rudiments). Both are contained in Chains.

I've never used presets before and would like to give this a try. How are these two preset files used ? - thanks.

You should be able to just drag and drop them into Bitwig or put them somewhere Bitwig can find them (in a sound content location or directly to your presets folder, which you can find by right-clicking a preset you've saved and selecting "Open containing folder").

Would be very cool if there was a section for user presets in the "community" section of the Bitwig Website. With a ratings section like they have on the controller scripts tab.
Sort by Category and allow user comments would also be good.
Maybe even the ability to publish your preset direct from Bitwig.
Just an idea.
Best

Yea, it would be nice if they'd open a user patch area on their website, people who don't hang around here or on other sites could share stuff as well. A central location would be nice indeed. They ought to open up the package format as well, I don't know if it's even closed right now but there isn't much details about it from what I gather. That would then be nice 'cause both users and companies could get on sharing (or selling) packages. Easy to keep up-to-date as well.
The KVR patch upload section is of course good.. Didn't even think of it.
But still if people are willing, it would be nice to talk about what's possible with the modulators, because I know that at least me, I won't be able to come up with everything that's possible. ;-) A bit of conversation never harm anyone ..
Anyone figured out how to delay modulations? For example so that if I got an envelope doing something and I'd like to use the same envelope on something else, but I would like to let it kick in a quarter note or so later .. ? (Modulating the rate of an LFO with a envelope does the trick for LFOs.)
And few glitches that I've noticed: modulating the LFO form doesn't show the blue line that shows up when modulating the shape. The white dot seems to travel accordingly, though. The Beat LFO doesn't show it for either the shape or form, maybe it's supposed to be that way. Also, it's not possible to see the edit panel for the Vector 8 modulator (assuming there is such a panel), because the edit button is where the modulation source button is. Vector 4 works as expected.

Kinda neat now that the Note Receiver device allows for merging notes, it can be used with the drum machine so that one device can be played with more than one note -- and of course modulated with the note that it receives. For example, if you want to use one hihat source, but need variations from it (closed, bell/side, loose/pedal, open, etc), it's easy to do that with note receivers. The benefit from having one source is that it's easy to manipulate one device and have the changes reflected on the sounds other notes make. Plus it sums all the sounds to one channel on the mixer, which is convenient.
Here's a drum machine preset with 17 sounds coming from seven devices. Kicks, hihats, toms are modulated with keytrack, snare makes two type of rolls besides giving a single hit (using Note Echo), stuff like that.

This is kinda cool, methinks ..

First there's a note filter that lets everything through, then another filter that takes the note 36 (C1) and the note latch makes it into a toggle. Then there's a note receiver that receives from the first note filter and finally there's a note filter that removes everything below C#1; above that is what the synth then receives.
Now, what this contraption is good for is that when you put in a Note Sidechain modulator into the synth (or whatever plugin), you can make keyswitches. That is, setting the sidechain modulator's source to either the "Filter out C1" or the note latch, you can then modulate another modulator's amount or any other parameter by hitting that C1 note (which doesn't produce sound, because it's being filtered out at the final stage).
Depending on how meticulous you are willing to be, you can even morph between entirely different settings by hitting a note (using the sidechain modulator's sustain parameter), only to go back to the same sound after you either release that note or hit it again. Or mute layers in a layer container. Of course it's also possible to set up a number of different notes that each do something to the sound. Good for a performance patch.
Here's a Polysynth patch that demonstrates it. C1 toggles on an LFO that modulates filter cutoff frequency; the sidechain modulator receives from the note latch, so it's not necessary to hold down the note.

LFOed tone generator gain + replacer = auto generated MIDI notes
there are some possibilites here

Ha, looks like my earlier exercise in futility, but you made it sound like a creaking door or like rubbing a balloon. :P Cool stuff. Definitely easier to do this in 2.0 and easier to make more playable patches too, what's with more LFOs and other modulators. I suppose the Note Echo device can be coaxed to do similar stuff as well.
Similar to your video, the audio sidechain modulator adjusting the replacer's output velocity is also quite handy for more common use cases of the replacer device.
I tried something in the earlier version to see how to do it there, but hot damn, there really is no more turning back to the nesting mess of the 1.0 series. As cool as it was, the way it is now is just way more flexible, faster and fun.
edit: the button doesn't react to automation? Looks like a bug, Buttons does react ..

"edit: not possible to record the button's state as automation? Looks like a bug .."
working for me, have you pressed the automation recording enable at the top (button beside {OVR}), btw from now a whole auto triggered drum can be generated inside a track
the note merging capabilities of the Note Receiver note is HUGE in BWS 2, quite complex devices can be built with it, the absence of it a quite annoying device building blocking point in BWS 1.x.x

Yea, it does work, but for a moment there, it didn't. Settings were correct because other stuff was being recorded and played back correctly. Hmm.. But good that it does anyway.
And I totally agree, the note merging is a big thing for all sorts of stuff. I think I even requested it at some point, it was almost silly that it wasn't capable of doing it before.
Oh and by the way, you can rename the button from the inspector (the text on the button itself changes).
