Oh, c'mon, after all England always loses the important matches...
And I sure understand you're afraid of those penalties.
But never mind. What a great match!
I wish Germany had a team like that - and I bet you don't..
It's a shame one of these two teams had to lose.

Portugal deserved to win that match. England were fielding a good team, and our defense was solid, but then it needed to be; we limped through the first stage by banking on a few moments where it all came together for midfield and the strikers, and 80 more minutes of non-stop defense.
Eventually we came up against a situation where the ratio of attack/defense dropped just too far...
I think the ref was calling some unfair judgements on hard tackles, but frankly even if we had won that game it would have been more through luck that playmanship.

I watched it live in Germany and I cheered for the english team but when it came to penalty I knew that this would be the end of the road...tingle wrote:Valley - did you watch the football live in the US?
Don't blame it on the ref, blame it on Beckham! That penalty was ridiculous!

Speaking as someone that normally goes out of his way to avoid football, I have to admit I was glued to my seat (well, the floor as I was fixing my bass amp.)
And there was me hoping for an early night last night!
