I installed Tracktion as sequencer to my notebook with Echo Layla 24 (+PCMCIA Card). It is really nice sequencer
Later I added several VST Instruments I like very much (Yellow Culture, all Moogs, BFD Drums, Atmosphere etc.) + Firewire fast HDD (7200 rpm) to increase speed of streams within system.
WHAT A DISAPOINTMENT NOW.
When I open BFD (Drums plug In) or Moog or any virtual instrument, together with sound I hear cracks, clicks and such garbage
I am under impression that system cannot swollow complex samples (wave) very well and some artefacts come out.
Again, CPU usage is shown below 10%.
Notebook is Pentium 4 1800 MHz with 768 MB Ram + Maxtor Firewire HDD. It works flawless on all other applications, but when I started with sampled sounds and VST instruments I was killed with horrible results
ANY REAL LIFE OPINION
Also, should I forget notebook for such tasks and just do it in all new faster and memory richer + 15000 rpm HDD PC ?
I feel that problem lies in tuning of notebook, but I have no idea what to do, as well as, that maybe PCMCIA Card can cause something bad, too?
I understand that above has nothing with Tracktion, but this is forum I appreciate very much
Confused.
Thanks for your support.
