MUX not compatible with Bidule (Solved)

I tried to load the MUX vst into the Plogue Bidule, which could be a nice duo, but Bidule refuses to load MUX.
Hope that can be fixed. System: OSX 10.10.5, MUX 7.36 and Bidule 0.975.

Are you using 64bit or 32bit versions of MuX and Bidule?

I remember you were reporting similar issues on the same system in other hosts. As far as i can see in the tech reports you sent (thx) it may be something with MacOS. I don't see anything that hints me towards MUX. Consider upgrading to Sierra.

I'm using only 64bit versions of plugins and DAWs. Yes, there is the same problem with Cubase 9.010. But I can't upgrade to OSX 10.12, because my computer is not compatible with this version. Apple has cut off the older computers from updating.

I have a similar Mac setup (core2duo, OSX 10.10.5) so I just downloaded Bidule and had similar results, but not just with the MUX vst. I found that none of the inserted module/vst windows would open when double clicked until I tried to quit out of Bidule and then all the windows appeared at once. Looks like there is a conflict with Bidule and this version of OSX (and MUX does not appear to be the issue here). I can also confirm that the MUX 7.3.6 vst loads and functions as expected in MuLab, Live, Bitwig, Tracktion and Studio One in OSX 10.10.5 (Yosemite).

No, I can't confirm that there is generally an issue with Bidule and OSX 10.10.5. First there was something confusing like you described, but now its working fine. No problem. It's just the problem that it doesn't want to work with MUX. It's the only one of my plugins, which is not working with Bidule. Is there an older version of MUX, which I can download and try?

So glad. Finally I got MUX to work in Bidule. I really don't know why. MUX and Bidule are really great, they are simular, but quite different in details. Both have their pro's and contra's, but both together is a dream come true.

If you have the time I would like to see the Bidule-Mux comparison, pro and con.wibem1 wrote:So glad. Finally I got MUX to work in Bidule. I really don't know why. Which is the preferred to be the host?
Is Bidule opened as a stand-alone or hosted by a DAW?

Here is the comparison:
Bidule:
Standalone and VST
VST3-compatible
has a lot of modules, quite different then MUX
MUX:
only VST2, no standalone
also a lot of modules
big advantage : building your own user-surface to control plugin-parameters is possible (not in Bidule)
IMHO they are not substituting each other, but can build a dream team, when you combine the advantages.

That's great. Too bad not in Bidule
This is also in Patcher

if it ever gets finished.

Hi mutools, do you mean Mulab as a standalone-version of MUX? Its not quite the same. I use Bidule as sophisticated VST-host to play as an instrument. Mulab is IMO a sequencer with inbuild modular-VST-system MUX.
To answer the other question, what made Bidule change its mind to accept MUX. I had a folder with the MUX-VST and its content. Then I renamed this folder and let Bidule rescan alle VST's and suddenly it accepted the MUX-VST. It's quite mysterious, but sometimes the computer and software are like this.
