vst program gets reset to first

in Mulab 7 free version (both 32,64bit) under windows i imported a midi file and assigned a vst instrument,whatever program is chosen it gets reset to first.if program is changed while song is playing that doesn't get reset.this happens with both 32,64bit vst(synth1,charlatan).exporting to audio also has the same problem.

MOst probably there is a program change in the midi file. Inspect the sequence parts in the event list editor and check for program change events.
