Seriously; 3.1Gb download to install 15Mb of software is f**king dumb. That better not be the case for updates too.

Put the samples for Collective that constitute 2.9Gb of that in a separate download, save a large number of us from this utter pointlessness.

I was kindly pointed to the archive link (by a Kvrian) under the downloads where a current installer just for Waveform can be found.

Good to know, cheers. However, hiding the only access to the separate the installer somewhere pretty damned counterintuitive is no less dumb.

I believe the point is to download all of it at once so you're more inclined to give Collective a try. If you wouldn't if you had to download the samples separately.

Collective is included with Waveform, it's part of it. We built the bundle installer and unified authorisation system (the one you get presented with when you first launch Waveform) to streamline the download process so you don't have to download several different components and install them all separately, scan for plugins etc. just to get what you've already paid for.

It may seem obvious to experienced users how DAW plugins work but to people new to the world of computer music this can be confusing. Having everything in one installer makes this process a lot simpler.

We will improve the downloads section to make it obvious that you can get Waveform-only updates in the old-style, small downloads. However, for launch we wanted to make sure that everybody got what they paid for so made the combined installer front and centre.

I currently am using a licensed installation of T7. Can I download just the Waveform installer for free or will this still require a $50 upgrade fee? I just want Waveform with the new mixer section. I am not interested in Collective, Biotek, or the other large components. I only record audio. Please let me know if I can be validated for Waveform ONLY minus the samples and synth components as a free upgrade.

Yes, how does that work? I did install the 20 MB file from the Tracktion archive and ran it but it is in demo mode.

Hmm, I only wanted Waveform and dont need the other stuff.
There is no indication that Waveform on its own is free to T7 owners.....
