I am currently using Tracktion 7. This may be a dumb question but I can't find the setting to check my mix in mono. I have Googled this but no success so far. Can anyone let me know how I can do this?

So, there is not a built-in option for this? I use Reaper as well and in the Master section there is a Mono button that you can use to easily switch modes. My interface does not have a mono switch unfortunately. Wow, I'm surprised this was not included.

no, nothing built-in in t7.
but you can easily build your own mono-switch for the master effects section with a rack, no need for extraplugins.
here is one i built to help you out:

place a new empty rack in the master effects section (right click "add effects"). doubleclick to edit, in the rack-ui at the bottom left press load, on the bottom of the appearing list you get an import option. from there you can import the rack above.

Klanghelm's VUMT has a handy mono-summing switch which I use on the master bus, alternatively a handy free solution is Plugin Alliance's bx_solo.

Mike GTR, I always had ozone but, I would think the easiest way to check is to set up 2 tracks, each with different sound, one all the way to the left and the other all the way to the right, then turn on the mono swich, and if you can hear both sounds they are summed if you only hear one of them they are not.

if you mean the rack i provided, it is a summing mono. you can easily see it when looking at the routing inside the rack. level reduced by 6 db to compensate for the loudness from the summing.U4Ya wrote:Mike GTR, just make sure this is a summing mono and not left or right mono.

the free bx solo is a nice little tool, with some more functionality! recommended

my original message was not to put down your rack, or youklangbastler wrote:if you mean the rack i provided, it is a summing mono. you can easily see it when looking at the routing inside the rack. level reduced by 6 db to compensate for the loudness from the summing.U4Ya wrote:Mike GTR, just make sure this is a summing mono and not left or right mono.
I personaly did not download your rack since I own other mono summing plugins,
so I dont know if its a summing mono or not, just a advice to be 100% sure.
Cheers
