Hi there. I've made an 808 and a 909 tribute. Both are downloadable from the mux library.

These are sample based instruments. I wont go into too much detail here but I've attempted to make these sound as close as I could to the originals with the same limitations.

Features:
- Embedded samples
- Built-in step sequencer
- Trigger Pads
- 1 x Aux send per channel
- 1 x Insert per channel
- Tweakable Kick and Snare drums (+ Cymbal tone 808 only)

Says....couldnt load preset. Any idea why?Win 10

These presets are saved with M9.2.22.
Best to upgrade your MuLab to the most recent version, currently M9.3.18.

These presets are saved with M9.2.22.
Best to upgrade your MuLab to the most recent version, currently M9.3.18.

Updating to 9.3.18 solved that issue. Dont really understand the above sentence......these presets are saved with 9.2.2.....? I guess....when it was 9.2.2. Now I guess they are saved with 9.3.18.....either way thanks for the input and help. I needed to update anyway.

These are really well done. Everything you want and nothing you dont. Really looking forward to digging deeper in the coming days. Funny.....my last mux was something similar. I was going for the same kinda thing but with straight up synthesis. You added some new ideas to my thoughts now. I will upload my original here.

Well of course they are. Why wouldnt they be? 9.2 2 was the version I was using at the time.

Are you trying to say.....they were created in 9.3 and thats why they dont work in 9.2? That seems odd. Other older mux presets loaded fine.

Played around with these a bit more.....wow!
Only suggestion I came across is to use the instrument names to the left of the sequencer to launch the samplers.

Now that said it us quite elegant in its one sample per pad state. What you get is what you get and that keeps you creating not tweaking.

But I WILL make this my default 808 and 909 for my Mars kits just cause I can. But in practice I will probably end up using it just as it is.

If you open the a MUX preset file in a plain text editor then you'll see at the start of the file with which version the file is saved. They were saved with M9.2.22. You tried to open them in M9.2.2, which is an older version than M9.2.22. Typically you cannot open files in older versions, although in practice that also depends on which data is in the file, but the basic rule is: Project/Preset files saved with version X can only be opened by version X or newer. Does that explain it?

Thanks for trying these Muxs out and I'll take all your suggestions on board for the next one

There's more than one sample player at work on the kick and others, so it's not easy to present just one sample player.
