MStereoProcessor Questions

I'm demoing MStereoProcessor and had question: What is the relationship of the global widening control vs. the widening control of each of the individual bands? What exactly is going on when you use both?

Specifically, I want to be able to keep the bass frequencies in mono, but increase the stereo spread of the other frequencies. Would I necessarily need to leave the global widening control alone and ONLY use the individual band adjustments? It seems to me that global being global, by increasing stereo spread globally it would defeat my objective by sucking the bass frequencies into the spread.

Correct, global will effect all frequencies. So just use the bands.

A stupid question, I guess, I just wanted to be sure whether the parameters were mutually exclusive.

You could make a multiparameter affect only the widening of the higher frequencies. You may have to put a little thought into the ranges, what should be the minimum and maximum widening for each band within that multiparameter.
