Did somebody mention how good this free reverb actually is?My all time favorite free reverb was Ambience also like and use Protoverb and OldSkoolVerb but today with delay by accident i put OrilRiver over Synthmaster track and the combination between synth and external reverb was shockingly good. What you guys think will OrilRiver replace Ambience as best free algorithmic reverb - please share experience and opinion.Thanks.

Well there is the free Sanford Reverb which is my favorite. OrilRiver is a very close second. If Ambience ever got a 64 bit version it would be right up there as one of the best free reverbs in my opinion.

Personally, I'm really not sure why Ambience was so popular. It doesn't put the source in a 'space' imo - just adds a flat sounding layer that sounds very artificial - very similar to the effect VOS's Epicverb has. I've never been impressed by oldschoolverb either. Kjaerhus's Classic Reverb is one of the few free reverbs that actually sounds like a convincing space imo. Martin Eastwoods Mverb was also a good one for placing the source in a nice space.
OrilRiver is also nice - hasn't become a keeper for me but it certainly is a nice one.
