Hi,

I really love the midi pattern generator it has basically all you need to sketch a song :D

But in the melody pattern generator (was the last one I have a closer look on) I just realized that there are only chord notes :(

I think thats not enough for a nice melody, so you should be at least have the possibility to choose between chord notes (as it is now automatically) and scale notes. I am not good in music theory so there might be something else interesting in this case but I think chord notes/scale notes are the absolutely necessary basic. Would be great if it ist possible to have both turned on, maybe in different colours.

Another think I realized (if I have not overseen something) that when you once deleted the muted notes (with is necessary to have the overview) you have not possibility to get the chord (and then hopefully scale :D ) notes back if you want to add something, that possibility ("turn chord/scale notes on again") would be great.

I really love these new tools, big, big potential and easy to use :tu:

Great idea about the scale notes! :tu:

I have also noticed the deletion of the muted notes when you delete one of the melody notes.

This is most apparent when you use the paint tool to brush in the melody and inadvertently add too any notes on the same beat. If you then delete any of these notes, the muted note goes way as well, making some editing of the melody afterwards based on the chord tones impossible! :dog:

This is really a problem if you are working with a solo voice and need to remove chords that you accidentally placed!
Windows 10 and too many plugins

It would also be nice to have an option to use "non-chord notes in non-accented position". I mean, that in real melodies scale notes between chord notes very often occur in non-accented bar positions (in 8th notes: c D e) for example. btw. I would really like to see this kind of functionality in arpeggiorators also;)

Passing tones between chords is a good example of this. They are often non-scale notes though. I'm not sure they can be automated with good results.

I really hope they will investigate/devellope a little bit more in this great midi pattern utility, would be really sad if they stop such a fantastic thing at the current development state which is just a (great !) beginning but far from "finished" or even a 1.0.

For me scale notes are really (one of) next logical step(s) for improving melody generation. Of course you could add a lot more but at least what I love about that thing right now is the absolutely ease of use, that should not get lost.

Making a simple song is just a breeze, could not find something similiar anywhere else I would suggest. Melody is the only thing really falling behind cause of only chord notes sounds boring fast.

I am little afraid that in the last weaks it is really quiet in here, maybe some of the bugs will take some time but I really hope they wont stop here with this midi thing and wait till "Waveform2" (or whatever it then might be called.....) for improving.

Scale notes in different colors are coming in the next build.

The muted notes can be moved around, so if you need the odd accidental you can drag a note into position and then unmute it.

Keep the ideas coming, I'm interested in hearing how you all are using the tools.

Maybe add the pentatonic (blues) scale to the scale selection?
