It looks like iZotope are selling a cut-down version of Neutron called Neutron Elements. All I can tell so far from the product page is that it has one less compressor available. It's also on a deal at the moment, at $99 with a regular price of $129. Has anyone tried it?

Izotope is ridiculous only offering crossgrades to the production bundle from
the production bundle, and no upgrade from Alloy 2 to Neutron.
What a blatant, I *will charge you more money for stuff ploy.
No thanks...

Way overpriced IMO!
I love the production bundle. There are ways to get into it cheap, keep your eye out for a great sale and make sure that you have some other iZotope products. If you just want Neutron, I'd way for a sale on the regular product and just pass on this silliness.

I have the first production bundle, I will upgrade when they come to
their senses a bit, in regard to the price.
Or, I can wait, forever if necessary...
Otherwise, I'll just buy it used at some point.
I just think they could be a little less obvious about stuff, I mean
do they really think were all stupid? Neutron uses exactly the same presets
as Alloy FFS. Geez...

Hilarious, I did not know that. I don't have Alloy, I came to iZotope a bit later. I do like aspects of their old interface style as well, I use Nectar and Trash 2 quite a bit.pekbro wrote: I just think they could be a little less obvious about stuff, I mean

Sorry for my ignorance, but why is this overpriced in your opinion? What resembles this package? I 'd really be interested if there are others like it.ghettosynth wrote:Way overpriced IMO!

Neutron Standard's introductory price was $99. It will go on sale at that price at some time in the not too distant future. What resembles this package is Neutron Standard which has significantly more capability and is, consequently, much more useful.SparkySpark wrote:Sorry for my ignorance, but why is this overpriced in your opinion? Therefore, this is overpriced as compared to THEIR OWN product line.
Others may really find the automatic features more useful. I do use them every once in a while to find a good starting point, but, that's not what makes Neutron so useful IMO. I like the dynamic EQ, the integration, and the multiband compressors, enhancer, and transient shaper. When you take the majority of those features out it's a low end channel strip with a few tricks. There are more than enough tools that are comparable, free even, to the basic tools of Neutron "Elements."

Ah - got it.
Thanks!
For anyone interested: you can run it for free for ten days. There are also constant fifty percent academic deals (on full price) on everything Izotope.
