Routing audio tracks through a rack of effects

Hello,

I'm having difficulty routing a long audio track, made with [Project-->Import Audio File] through a rack of effects. Even when I see volume on the rack--the effects do not change the sound. Is the only way to do this to use the audio file in a sample player? I would prefer to stream from disk (or memory) and then record my automation of effects settings.

Routing any audio thru rack effects will apply these effects on the audio. If the effects have no effect then pls check the effect settings and/or the routing.
