1. What samples, tracks, etc. do you use to familiarize yourself with new plugins?
2. Do you have standard drum, pad, lead, melody, etc. parts that you use or do you select according to the effect's purpose?
I'm typically pretty haphazard about things and usually apply a new plugin to something that I am currently working on because I feel the most familiar with it at THAT moment.
The reason that I am asking is this: When any of us apply a plugin to a sample or track it is very possible that it is unique to our own system. 3. How can we therefore compare results with one another or offer up suggestions? The number of variables present in any given musical piece can be astronomical (especially when adding Melda plugins to them!) so I am wondering if we should establish a set of standard tracks and samples for everyone to use. This way we can tell Vojtek, "I used Track #4 with no limiting when working to understand the ins and outs of MTransientMB. Here is the result. Here are my settings. As you can hear/ see, I'm not getting much by way of sustain manipulation. What would you recommend?" [Theoretically taken from a current thread that I was reading.]
I don't know if this is a good , bad or indifferent idea, I just wanted to share some musings.

One way to do this is to create some synth sound in MPS as the example audio. When you paste the settings for the FX in question here also paste the synth settings too. Then we can all hear exactly the same as you.
