Intermittent cursor sound loss

Waveform/Asio4all/Mackie ASIO./Mackie 16c desk/Focusrite Isa 808/Hammerfall. Occasionally the cursor does not travel smoothly and the sound is lost.In settings the test signal beeps intermittantly.The only way to rectify the problem is to go back to Mackie ASIO in device, test for continuous signal then go back to ASIO4ALL.Latency is usually 512ms.Windows 7 i7 16g ram.Any ideas anyone :help:
