That's right 99.99% of jobs are no fun.

Advertisement, just like ZebraCM or Beatzille. Taking existing code, slapping a UI on it, passing it on to magazines/ezines.aboukirev wrote:What about TyrellN6? Was it technically coded for another company (well, magazine)?

Woah, that sounds like a lot less commitment than it sounded like on Amazona.de.Urs wrote:Advertisement, just like ZebraCM or Beatzille. I think that the people over at U-he love what they do.spunkmuffin wrote:That's right 99.99% of jobs are no fun.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Yes, to be honest, I regret TyrellN6. The original deal was, I do the code (and it was a *lot* of extra code) and they do the presets, UI design and the manual. The manual never surfaced, and presets were done by us, I think exclusively. The guy who did the design was pissed off because it was originally supposed to be payware, I think with a special deal for Amazona subscribers. So I went with the magware option. But the guy still didn't do a UI. So that was me as well, and I'm like, WTF. Then they did a UI a year later, done by some random intern somewhere, which was the most horrible thing we've seen. Then they did another UI a year later which was okay. However, the big advertisement went poof. They did nothing, yet portray my role as just the guy who did what he was told to.chk071 wrote:Woah, that sounds like a lot less commitment than it sounded like on Amazona.de.Urs wrote:Advertisement, just like ZebraCM or Beatzille. It's different with CM and Beat (and German Keyboards Magazin before that). They do a lot of tutorials and feel a lot more committed than Amazona to the stuff we did. We feel much better with them, and we go an extra mile if we need to.

Yes, it is. But I guess we have to claim it back, or create an alternative, if we wanted to continue development.chk071 wrote:Sorry to hear that.I thought it was a fair deal. It's a nice synth nonetheless.

Ah, I just see, they (well, someone) did a manual based on Hive, mostly.
Don't get me wrong. It was a good project and all that, but in the aftermath I feel a bit under-appreciated. Too many demands, too tiny credits, not enough love.

TyrellN6 has its own charm. If you see any evolution for it, it could be welcomed, perhaps not as a major synth, but certainly one that has some serious enough offerings of its own.
