T6 constantly crashing when I drop in an mp3 into the tracks

I'm working on a project with multiple tracks (8) and I've dropped a couple of audio mp3's onto the tracks to add to the mix (which worked just fine) and now I'm trying to drop in a third mp3 and it keeps crashing when I do! The project is only 2-3 minutes long (17kb in the 'size' spec row... so tiny). Any idea what could be wrong? How can I get on with the rest of my project?
Cheers team :)

Is it always the same MP3 that crashes T6? Have you tried adding them in a different order? Have you tried putting the third MP3 file into a new project? Just wondering if there's something wrong with the third one, though I've no idea what it could be.

on-the-fly mp3 decoding at least will cost you some cpu cycles. maybe it is not even stable.
samples come in blocks, and precision of timing may suffer from that.

I am using LAME 3.98 and the RazorLame UI shell.
Suggesting to decode all mp3s before DAW work!
(For encoding, settings are sensitive, but then it works really well.)

so, how do I decode the mp3? Perhaps I should convert it back to a .wav then drop then into the project? I'll experiment and check out your suggestions.

Gahhh! I'm getting frustrated! I've converted the tracks to .WAV and managed to import x 1 more into T6 and now it's crashing whenever I try to import another track, whether .mp3 or .wav! I've tired (as suggested) to import into another project too, but the same thing happens! I was really enjoying T6, but now I'm not. I might have to look into reaper again! Can anyone shed some light as to solve this issue? Perhaps if I uninstalled T6 and then reinstalled. Could that make a difference?

Might be worth contacting support. They might have some clues. There's a logfile (via the Help button) which might contain some clues, so maybe send that to support as well.

If the files are not too confidential/personal, is there a way they could be made available to one or two people for them to try with?

Sure, there's nothing personal about them, they're simply royalty free music loops I'm using to create a voice reel. I'll give support a bell. Thanks

i have used mp3 on T6 and everything worked well, do you have LAME encoder installed?, if not goto export and select audio type mp3, then an option to download LAME will appear.

what's the sample rate? perhaps non-standard or not supported?
then you might use the free r8brain (i hope it is still around).

I just realised it was .wav files I was having troubles with. Since I converted them into .mp3 's and dropping those into T6, I've had no more troubles (and crashes) thus far, so I'm a happy Tracktioneer again. Thanks for your suggestions.
