Using MIDI controller with Tracktion

hey there, wondering if anyone out there knows how/if you can assign midi controllers to plug-in parameters or volume and pan controls etc.. (a bit like Ableton Live) if so, how! the help doesn't seem to refer to this practice at all...

well basic playing is easy, just plug in your hardware controller, start up tracktion, and you should be able to select it in the settings. But probably its already defult. Then in the sequencer it apears as an arrow on the left side. Just drag it to the desired track. Now if you have a vsti in that track, you should be aloud to play it. edit: press the automation record button, next to the play button in the sequencer, and pull the controllers to se if it records!
Each instrument has different ways to set up the controlling of the parameters, and personaly I think that sucks, because it is a lot of work trying to fin out how each synth manufactor has made their own rules on the same midi system! Though basic keys, and pitch bend is the same on all synths.
Actualy today im going to try finding out how to set up my favorite synths: Reaktor Sessions, Albino 2, ImpOSCar, Absynth 2 and Tassman 4.
If you are interested, I can post the results here.
Allso I would be very happy for some input on this, because it can be time consuming reading all this manuals!
For me synths stands or fall on theyre usability as a tool. Imidiate contol and recording of parameters is key.

ah right, so it's just a case of finding the pre-assigned midi controller numbers that have been set by the manufacturer of the plugin? a "learn-from-midi-input" would be invaluable! do you know if tracktion's own effects have midi controller assignments?
