But it seems (playing half an hour, one time saving, closing, opening up again):
I have gotten two new brilliant, genius, great sounding and easy to use instruments with WF 8.2.7/Collective 1.1.0/Biotek 1.6.5: one synth and one sampler
Just realized WHAT I have missed so long with not being able to use Collective and Biotek....
Really, really hope thats it and they will work from now on.

Please, redux still doesnt open more than 2 outputs. Waveform is the only daw with this problem i know

Have you tried right clicking the plugin and choosing "Configure plugin channels".
N.B. if a VST plugin has more that one bus, its channel config will be static and hence the above menu won't be available. This was discovered after discussions with the Steinberg devs and MeldaProduction.
(If I load Renoise Redux on Mac and use the above menu I can open multiple output channels, this can very clearly be seen by wrapping the plugin in a Rack and seeing the number of output pins change).

Is it possible that with this version, Side-Chain functionality has been deleted? I don't the the Side-Chain menu in the upper left corner of Side-Chainable plugins. In the Waveform Problem Plugins thread on page 12 a couple people lost Side-Chain.

I checked that sidechaining is working with a few plugins. Perhaps the plugins you're talking about don't automatically open more than a stereo input?
Can you right click the plugin and select the "Configure plugin channels" option to enable more inputs?

oh surprise surprise.
biotek + collection still deadlock W8 on linux, have to hard pkill -9 it...
scan for thumbnails (select biotek + collection) crashes app to desktop.
open edit, scan thumbnail, click windowed 'X' to close.. discard changes gui box pops BEHIND app.. hit it a few times, get multiple discard changes disalogue box behind app.
gui so LAGGY? wow this is new.
open edit. hit app X close button..... wait 30 seconds for discard changes dialogue box (which popped in front this time)
(click discard changes, wait 20 seconds for dialogue to go away.. wait 10 more seconds for app to close... wow)
everything seems so laggy in the gui now. it worse than 8.2.0! everything seems to have a like a 2-3 second delay from click. at least its not as bad as trying to discard an edit. drop plugin box onto track.. wait 3 seconds... I mean, I got 12 cores / 24threads and 96gb ram..
W8 has been a total waste of money for me to have upgraded from T7.

This sounds very odd. I'm not sure where the huge lag is coming from but obviously not everyone is experiencing that. We'll have to dig in to it a bit more.
Can you make sure you've updated to the latest beta version of Collective (v.1.1.3) and the latest version of BioTek (v1.6.5)

The thumbnail scanner shouldn't be available on Linux, it looks like a mistake that the button to do so is in there. However, it shouldn't crash, it should just fail to create any thumbnails. Could you perhaps upload a log file for us to take a look at?

I am running Waveform 8.2.7 beta and had a strange thing occur today. The Waveform application window suddenly vanished, "poof"!
Only had one instrument plugin inserted, SynthMaster One, and was auditioning presets in that. No other effects or VSTs in use at the time. Just clicking away to advance to the next preset in the plugin UI.
No crash messages, or logs that I noticed. Restarted Waveform and it offered to open a temporary copy of the previous edit. Which it did, but with no sign of the plugin that I was using.
Re-inserted the same plugin and it happened again.
Tried again, with all tracks except track 1deleted, so only track 1 exists, no clips, just a keyboard MIDI input and one synth.
"Poof"! again. No sign of a Waveform task in Windows task manager after this occurs, so the task is clearly ending when this happens.

It looks like the Tracktion DAW Essentials Collection Compressor and Ducker have the sidechain drop down menu. Some third party plugins that support sidechain do not have the drop down menu: Voxengo Crunchessor, Klanghelm DC8C2, iZotope Neutron. I tried right clicking the plugins all over the GUI but wasn't able to get to a "Configure plugin channels" option or menu.
From the Waveform User Guide Version 8 2017-11-23, it looks like the drop down sidechain menu is the only way to assign a sidechain. Can you create a Send to direct audio to a sidechain input?
I looked through the User Guide and through the Settings-Plugins within Waveform but couldn't find any way to configure the plugin or the way Waveform sees the plugin.
Any help is appreciated.
