WILL WAVEFORM EVER BE COMPATIBLE WITH WAVES INSTRUMENTS? :x

Here's the deal... The WAVES instruments work perfectly with Tracktion 7.2.1... so what's the deal with WAVEFORM??????????????? If these plugs don't work with Waveform, it obviously is an issue with TSC, not WAVES... right????????????

So what's the deal... am I missing something here?

some time ago i could not make them work in Waveform so unistalled them and searched for alternatives like izotope.

And yes, is waveform who cause the problem because waves plugins work well in other DAW.

Whatever the reason, it needs the Waves people to discuss it with the Tracktion people. As it happened, a few days back one of the Waves developers posted on the Problem Plug-ins thread, so perhaps the source of the problem will come to light.

I spent hours looking in to this the other day and came up empty as detailed in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=482914&start=168

If the plugins worked in T7 my best guess is that it's something to do with the added support for multi-bus plugins in JUCE between T7 & W8.

Whether the problem needs to be fixed on the JUCE, Waveform or Waves side is yet to be determined but as I detailed in the other thread I don't have any info to go on as the crash is deep inside the Waves plugin code.

Eyal from Waves kindly replied to that thread saying he would take a look and advise us further so that's what we're waiting on at the moment.

Well, that's a piece of cake for TSC, cause the main JUCE dev is the creator of Tracktion/Waveform :D

Just to add that the new Waves VU works like a charm in 8.2.7.

It's specifically an issue with Waves instruments, not effects plugins. Including the new Bass Slapper, Rhapsody Grand, Clavinet etc. Seems to crash when they try to access the external sound banks.

I've got quite a few Waves effects that I use in Waveform quite a lot, and they seem fine.

I had some Waves effects that were not working. I put them in the Waves Rack plugin and it proved to be a viable workaround.
