Hi folks,

When using an amplitude envelope on an individual OSC, the release control only has an effect if the Global amp envelope release is also somewhat long.

So, for example, if the global release is 15ms, then setting the OSC release for, say, 1000ms will have no audible affect.

It would be great if the OSC amp envelopes gave you a couple of extra options:
#1: link to global release
(in this mode, tweaking the OSC release would snap the global release to the same value)
#2: override global release
(in this mode, global release would have no affect - the ).

In fact these options might also be useful for some of the other envelope controls like attack, but it's less important.

It could be that i'm not understanding something about the way the global and OSC envelopes interact, so if so, someone please correct me!

Hi D,

I'm afraid that just makes no sense to me. You are basically asking to ignore some feature (OSC release) or even provide a feature to ignore this. Why don't you just use a very long global release then??

Anyways it needs to work the way it does. One envelope is applied at a time. You are asking for some supercomplex way they would interact. And don't make me bring the signal chain :D.

OK!!

I still think at least a "link to global release" button would be a nice addition.

It would save one from having to go back to the global tab and perhaps more importantly, let less experienced sound tweakers understand why the hell the OSC release isn't doing anything!! :hihi:

You could link them with a multiparameter.
