Jules please focus on exporting problems in mac OSX.......lots of times there is skips midi note problems etc that only occur while exporting a wav file and not during normal playback....ie...my song sounds great so I export it as a wav file (aiff 24bit dont work at all) and it has all sorts of little errors including midi that was perfectly in synch not being in synch or cut notes.....specifically if there is a long ride cymbal hit that is say 6 seconds it is cut off after 3 seconds......this type of shit makes me not want to use Tracktion.......cause I scared the more time I put into a track the more dissapointed I will be by render errors. This is a must......also see monkatron's (professional sound designer for MTV) post about exporting errors on a mac. Also the one click render needs to be 24 bit already! sheeeeesh.....Jules should hire, valley, Modular and the Karbon dude to do his dirty work! Whatever......for some reason I feel reporting bugs here is pointless anyway....Jules proably wont read it if he does he will just right it off and other forum members will explain in one way or another that I am a winer, life is not perfect, niether is software and of course....Jules is only one man and a busy one at that.......Please start working on a better version 1.5 than all this version 2 shit that is keeping me from having a solid Tracktion.

Post

Oh will you shut the f**k up or get a new line of patter

What makes you think the bugs aren't being addressed? Have you asked? Or is it just that they're not sorted yet? So that obviously means they're being ignored

Jesus christ if your music is anything like your posts, it must be a 90 minute cd that consists of a 3 second loop over and over and over and over and over and over and over again
"my gosh it's a friggin hardware"

Post

Chico you are an asshole....clearly. Read the end of my post again....., I dont think that the exporting problems are being ignored....., however I do feel they are not recieving the priority they deserve.....I was the first mac user ever to own Tracktion.....in the wee wee early beta stages and reported bugs similar to this over 6 months ago and they remain....that is the reason for my concern. Working threw an entire song than not being able to finish it do to export problems sucks hard. Whatever with assholes like chico.co.uk I might as well not post a bug at all.......read the end of my first post....chico definitly filled the void of unconstructive bull shit as opposed to a yes this should be fixed followed by a "hey know Jules in only one man, I sure he will fix it so his app works in version 2". I not even complaining, you just take so much shit around hear reporting a bug. I definitly just gonna email jules bugs from now on and not deal with little f**king wankers like chico the ass monkie. blah blah blag blah bloom blah blah.

eeeeeeeeeer
calm the f**k down

anyway how the f**k can jules hire mod or valley
they both work in delphi
what you want jules to port to delphi so that some plugin designers can start tearing into his code
oh yeah and delphi works really well in mac osx :D

shut the f**k up
mod makes mod stuff really well
valley makes valleys stuff really well
but lets be honest here folks they havent sat down and wrote tracktion
they wrote some plugins
thats not to detract from what they have done
the two most used plugs on my drive are stepchild
and adbe gate(yup beta so dont go askin)
oh and dont think im giving you shit cuz im not
just think about what your saying
i quite agree that people get too much shit for reporting bugs
perhaps we could ask jules to create a sticky for unresolved bugs
if you have one and its still in there you dont need to report it
what your asking is ridiculous
if you want host software that is developed by a multitude of people
go and buy some cuz 80 dollars my man is not what your gonna pay for a multideveloper host
so for f**ks sake stop tellin jules who to hire
anyway i dont know about valley
but im pretty sure mod already has a very good job editing visuals :D

I agree, rendering/exporting is a major issue. I do think Jules is on it - when we will see any fixes is anyones guess.

However, for the 24-bit thing on mac I don't see it as a huge cripple. Unless your tracks are recorded/rendered very quiet you will here very little difference with 16-bit renders as opposed to 24-bit. Its more of a psychological 'oh no, its not 24-bit! It must suck!' that is freaking people out, I think. Tracktion mixes at 32-bit so the mix won't be affected.

Post

oh my god
well done floyd
somebody has actually realised that in most situations 16/24 bit is an absolute load of hifi selling bullshit
now can we just make some music and stopworrying if the next opus is going to be 16 or 24
who gives a f**k
not the listener
they just wanna hear good tunes and they dont honestly give a f**k if its on tape

if your not being payed many hundreds of thousands of pounds (dollars) to create your music
then shut the f**k up and make it
dont you realise 24 bit is just a ploy to make 16 bit gear redundant
hardware manufacturaes are very scared of software
and as soon as 24 bit is standard its gonna be oh actually 32 bit floating point is much better
sorry but i started out on 4 track tape and eventually ended up using the best 32 track reel 2 reels money could buy and tracktions still better quality
even through a soundblaster
but that doesnt mean it makes my music sound better

ah f**k it use whatever bit range you want and keep whinging at jules for the same thing
i hope he ignores you all and make tracktion 12 bit :D
nah fuckit 8 bit i loved my amigas samples :D

Case anyone missed my point, I don't mind people reporting bugs. I do it. Most of us do. That's how they get fixed.

I mind certain people reporting the same f**king bug over. and over. and over. and over. and over. and over. and over. and over again. Until it's fixed.

Then moving on to something else that's The Most Important Thing To Fix Now As It Affects Me. And reporting that over. And over. And over. And over. And over. And over again.

How many f**king threads do we need about rendering at 24 bit in the Mac version? I mean really? What the f**k new have you got to say about it?

When I purchased Tracktion, I was encouraged by the volume of traffic on KvR, and by the positive comments and helpful advice offered by the members. Even amused by some of the idle banter.

But clearly--as demonstrated by this thread and several others--there are a number of angry, petty, infantile, self-absorbed idiots in here.

Everyone entrusted with membership in this forum should realize that everything you write reflects directly on Tracktion and Jules. By acting out this way in a public forum, you actually impair the commercial viability of Tracktion, by driving away prospective customers, most who would presume that the user base (good or bad) reflects the software quality and professionalism.

If you want professional software, and professional advice and support (be it from other users, from Mackie, or whomever) then you must act like professionals, not spoiled little brats throwing shameful temper tantrums in public.

May I offer some gentle advice to all: when posting, stick closely to the facts, and bear in mind that nobody owes you anything, even for your hard earned 80 bucks. Go read a software EULA. There are no guarantees, period.

It's only a tool. If the bugs drive you crazy, then find other tools, there are plenty to choose from. Life is too short to waste being angry, especially over relatively unimportant things like computer software.
