Hi folks,
Is there a way to have an LFO stop running immediately when receiving midi note off events?
The reason is that when modulation the filter with the LFO, one often gets a click with a MIDI note on event, because the LFO always wants to run through at least one full cycle before stopping. So if you give a MIDI note off and then on event before the LFO has gone through one cycle, you may get a click as the filter jumps from the present filter setting to the starting setting (of the LFO).
I've compared the same behaviour in Xfer Serum and you don't get a click because in the scenario described above the LFO stops and jumps back to the start setting (of the LFO)......(this is with the "TRIG" setting in the Serum LFO section).
So @ Mr Melda, would it be possible to add an option to the MIDI reset section of the LFO that lets you opt to stop and return to start of LFO when it receives a MIDI note off event?

Hmmm, I think the problem here is that the LFOs are global, in Serum when the note ends the LFO stops probably too, because there's nothing it is applied on anymore. The problem here I see is that I don't see why it would help your problem with the clicks. Please send me the preset to info@meldaproduction.com, and I'll check it out.

Thanks for the reply.
I think the problem might have been that the dedicated filter ADSR (which is thought i wasn't using) had a too short release. I thought that as i had sustain up to full on the filter ADSR, it was essentially bypassed, but that wasn't the case. So putting the release to 90ms fixed it.
It's not entirely clear to me in this case (where one is using a mod envelope instead of the filter env.) how these two different envelopes interact.
It might be a nice addition in the future to have a hard bypass button on the filter ADSR (like you have on the OCSs), so it's totally bypassed!

Hmmm, hard bypass, it is possible of course, but instead you can simply put say a low-pass to the FX section.
