Meet Phase-4, a four-oscillator synthesizer powered by phase modulation and phase distortion. Drawing inspiration from legendary digital synths like Yamaha's DX7 and Casio’s CZ series, Phase-4 is capable of vintage sounds that we know and love, but it goes further, greatly expanding these phase manipulation concepts.
At the heart of each of the four stereo oscillators in Phase-4 is a sine wave that can be shaped by five different phase distortion algorithms. Each oscillator can also be phase-modulated, by itself and by the other three oscillators, producing a vast range of possible sounds and timbres. This combination of phase distortion and phase modulation — which we lovingly call phase manipulation — brings Phase-4 to life with all of its awesome sonic power. The oscillators can also manipulate the built-in filter section for incredibly crisp and edgy textures.
The extensive controls for frequency, phase distortion, and phase modulation allow for easy and fast access to truly complex phase manipulation technology. Fire up Phase-4 in its expanded view (more on that below) to see it in all its glory.
This beast of a synthesizer makes no compromises so beware: Phase-4 can have an appetite for CPU resources.

New Synth and it sounds really good!!

Great stuff! I wonder if the timestretching is implemented for previewing samples too, it would be great to audition at the project tempo.

The question is: "Will they release it in time for those who paid for the subscription last February, or will they hold out for March 1st for the extra cash?"

Beast, I can't wait to test this! Time signature automation, new stretch modes and a really flexible looking new synth! I wonder whether the stretch parameters are automatable now, they look like continuous controls so maybe.

Hopefully it does land before the early adopters bought their v2 upgrade though...

Website says end of February. There's no reason to believe they're going to act maliciously and treat their early adopters to a 200 eur surprise. Just wait and see, don't start a rumor mill.

That said: Badass update! Looking forward to it!

so that those of us that went along with their subscription model from the get-go will have to pay to get 2.3.

Im sure its just a coincidence, after all they told us that with the new subscription model, changes would not be have to be held back, so they could generate cash from a release. :hihi:

anyway, no worries, I've pretty much gone back to Live... it may not have the flexibility in some areas, but still feels more refined, complete... and if we get as many updates for L10 , as we did for L9, its upgrade pricing is better too.

p.s. for those saying they might drop before sub date... sure, but if its buggy, you wont get the 2.3.1 that will fix potential show-stoppers - this was the whole argument against the sub model... you dont get bug fix releases... so sure you'll have a shiny new 2.3, with new bugs... that you'll have to get back on the hamster wheel to have fixed.
