"Channel Volume" building block in FX matrix

Could anyone tell me what the "Channel Volume" building block in the FX matrix is for? (in MPowerSynth and MXXX)

When you instantiate it, it has only the volume 1 & 2 sliders active, with the other 6 greyed out.

Volume 1 & 2 sliders just adjust the volumes of the left & right channels respectively.

Does it contain 8 volume sliders for use with surround sound? Or does this building block have some other use?

It's mainly for surround indeed, but well, you can just use it as left & right volume.

I built a surround panner using this and an XY pad in MXXX. Works great!
