Export a preset from block in MXXX as single file?

Hi folks,

As i understand it, Melda presets are held in a monolithic preset file for each plugin (so, one file contains all presets)

However it's possible to export as a single preset file via ctrl + copy in the bottom right hand corner.

Is it also possible to export an MXXX block as a preset single file? I tried ctrl + copy in the MXXX individual block, but that doesn't do it.

The point is, i just spent a lot of time making a MConvolution preset, and i want to be sure to be able to call up this preset in the future, without worrying about if i've saved that monolithic preset file or whatever. Or say i want to send that preset to my production partner, he shouldn't need to import that monolith preset file just to use that one preset.

Any ideas?

And an additional related question: am i right in thinking it's not possible to open or copy in presets from MConvolutionMB into MXXX MConvolution?

Yes you can do it. Just use the same CTRL and copy.
I think you probably used the wrong copy button. It is not the one in the FX settings window, it's the one that is in the plugin itself.
Also be sure to check the save IR file in the settings inside MConvolution.

Also yes you can copy paste presets between plugins and MXXX, but not multiband obviously.

Thanks, but I'm not quite getting you.

The only ctrl + copy that does anything (as far as i can tell) in MXXX is the one in the bottom right corner of the total MXXX plug, which creates a preset for the total MXXX plug.

But i want to be able to dial up an MXXX preset and then load my own MConvolution block preset into that existing total MXXX preset.

I'm probably doing something wrong though!

That's unfortunate that one can't use MConv'MB presets in MConv', but cause single band MConv' has a grand total of zero presets!

I loaded a preset in MConvolutionMB then copied / pasted it into Convo in MXXX:

Thanks, that works! (copy MCon'MB to MCon')

I'm still unable to ctrl + copy in MConvolution to save individual presets when hosted inside MXXX. Does that work for you?

A question about your skin: what i like about it is that each floating window has a light blue edge, making it easy to see the limits of a window compared to the one underneath.

How / where do i adjust that? I'm actually quite happy with the default Titanium skin but would like to change the border colour only.

I didn't actually try the ctrl + copy thing, i just assumed. I'm probably wrong if you cant make it work.

Also you can't copy multiband into MXXX. The only way to do it is one band at a time, as the modules in MXXX are single band.

Ctrl+Copy works only for the Copy button below the A..H presets; therefore in MXXX, it saves a single preset for the whole MXXX build. Mind you, adding that functionality to all the "Copy" buttons could be useful (but may be confusing to some users ;)).

Re the Excitonium Style: the coloured borders was one of the main reasons why I changed Titanium; they cannot be changed in Titanium itself. In Excitonium_DS, the border colour depends on the colour you select in the Settings / Style configuration / Color settings / Title and Border box.

Ok, thanks, so it seems there's no way to save a MXXX block preset other then in the monolithic preset file which is shared by both each full blown plugin and it's corresponding MXXX block.

Would be great to have that functionality in the future, because as it stands there's no simple way for, for example, me to send you a block preset and you just load it easily into a block in your system. I would need to first save it in the monolith, open the standalone plug, export via ctrl + copy....then you would need to open the standalone, ctrl + paste load, save as preset, then open that preset in the MXXX block.

One other preset question for which i won't bother cluttering up the forum with for a new thread:

Take for example MTurboReverb. In the "easy" editor i see a list of preset groups with presets in each group, for example: Huge space > Galaxies > Andromeda

However if i press the "edit" button, i get into the nuts & bolts of the plugin, but all these presets are gone and i have a completely different set of presets up in the top left of the plugin.

Could anyone explain to me how these two sets of presets interact, if at all, and what might be the thinking behind these two classes of presets?

Click the Copy button, paste the content into a "Code" section in your reply

Code: Select all

Then I can drag through it to select it, copy it and click a Paste button. (The settings above are from a Delay block in MXXX.) You could also paste the contents into a .txt file.

The Easy screen shows the set of "Active Presets"; the Edit screen Preset browser shows all the 'ordinary' presets. They do not interact. On the edit screen you can edit the details of an Active Preset but you would save it as an 'ordinary' preset. Active Presets cannot be overwritten.

There is also a preset export option in the preset browser.
