Patchwork - wrapped VST's in Protools on Mac and PC

I recently did a project where it was tracked on PT10 on Mac and then I tried to finish the mixes on PT10 on PC. A lot of Airwindows VST's were wrapped using the latest version of Patchwork but I had to manually relink every VST in every instance of patchwork to bring them back. Right clicking and relocating automatically brought up the correct name of PC VST in the dialogue box but I had to actually browse and choose each plugin to bring it back which was pretty time consuming!

Just wanted to check if this was normal behaviour for VST's or if I'd discovered a special circumstance? The Airwindows plugs do have different file names between mac and PC as the 32 and 64bit versions on PC are named appropriately i.e. on mac there is just one file for Density density.vst, on PC there would a density32.dll and density64.dll and I didn't know if that was what was causing the problem. Does Patchwork look at the filename or the into the code of the plugs to get the names? Between mac and PC would they have to be in exactly the same relative folder locations within the VST folder as well?

Thanks in advance! It would be awesome if I could work out how to get this working more seamlessly!

Name changes will indeed be an issue. You do not need to have the plug-ins in the exact same folder, but they should have the same file name so that PatchWork can find them.

So for third party plug-ins which use different names under different platforms, the best way to handle this and avoid manual relocation is to do a copy of the plug-in with the same name as the Mac version, if it supports it.
