Here are some notes I made, if some of them are known issues with work-arounds available, I'd be grateful if someone could show me the way. I'm running version 1.5.1.16 on Windows 2000 SP3 with Audiophile 24/96.
1. Click-thru bug
I was pretty surprised to see the mouse cursor penetrate happily thru Crystal's GUI! This happened a couple of times, and as far as I observed only with Crystal.
2. Track focus lost after closing VSTi window
I select a track, and it's parameters appear on the bottom part of Traction screen. Then when I open the VSTi and noodle smthg and close it, the track is no longer selected, and I have to click the track again to make it active. Minor nag, but probably easy to fix...?
3. Key shorcut to "loop selected clips"
My most used key cmd in Cubase was a really handy one - It moved the In & Out markers around the selected clips and started looping the selection. AFAIK I need 6 keystrokes to do that with Tracktion, am I right? (Home, I, End, O, L, Spacebar according to default keycmds)
4. Idea for improving the zoom/quantise relationship
I had a hard time quantizing midi notes in T... it seems to be related to the zoom level? This could actually be cool, if there was an indicator somewhere showing the current zoom level in "note time".. like 1/1, 1/16, 1/64 and so on. I noticed there was a rather hasty pop-up signalling the snap level in the main edit screen, perhaps something like this would help in midi edit as well...
meanwhile someone please tell me how to quickly quantise notes to 1/16 for example
Thanks in advance for anyone kind enough to comment!
Sunny days,
Jon
