Multiple instances of the same data folder

Hi
When any of the BCA plugins (or standalone in the case of PW) is installed, it installs also the folder with its data in the same place where the vst is located. The thing here is that, no matters if its x64 or x32, the content of the folder is always the same, so why the need to have it again? it will be better have it located on one place like c:/program files/Blue Cats Audio/ (or better if ask to choose where to install it) and include only .ini file along with the plugin redireting to it. Hard links will be another option, but the other one will definelly be the best. I do use the same skin for both architectures, and in the case I wanted to customise something in a .inc file or whatever, it will save me from copy it to the other. And now I just downloaded the new PW for which I use the x64 and x32 VSTs and the standalone too... now it includes its own FXs on the Resource folder which are installed also on each VST folder... man, if it where installed just on a main folder, it will be enough, no need to have extra copies of the same thing for every one. Not to mention that I install Late Replies, it has the same FXs than PW, so more copies will be created. Would it be better if the VST check that they are already installed so it avoid to create them one more time?
Cheers

This is indeed something we have been thinking about, mainly to reduce the amount of disk space used when using multiple plug-in formats. This would however require that we package all plug-in formats in a single installer, to force customers having the same version of the plug-in in all formats to avoid conflicts.

Personally, I would rather have all of the formats in one installer, with a checklist to select which ones to install. Since I install three formats, a single installer would be quicker for me.

Yeah, definelly.rrichard63 wrote: Tue Apr 10, 2018 3:30 pm Personally, I would rather have all of the formats in one installer, with a checklist to select which ones to install. Since I install three formats, a single installer would be quicker for me.
It would be more easy to allow the user choose at install (or set that on the "Globall Settings..." tab) the location where the data folder gonna be created and save the location on the file "global.pref" that is stored on the Roaming folder, so that way it wouldn't matter if its "BC Flanger VST x64.dll" or "Flanger VST3 x86.vst3"; all the resources would be on one place.
