A melda version of the spectral editor in Reaper...so cool...have had to go over and back a couple of times.../s~

Spectral dynamics is this and more. Instead of using the standard gate or dynamics curves, use the custom curve and draw your own transfer curve. I've made some absolutely insane sounds with this.

As for Reaper's spectral editor... that's an offline process. There's no easy way to make that into a plugin.

We already know what Melda are working on: MYYY and the mixing revolution. But for me, I've requested a spectral MPhatik before, which is a little like MMorph but it matches both A&B inputs rather than just passes through A with a signal follower matched to B. It would allow actually true morphed signals rather than MMorph, which is really just a spectral envelope follower (despite the name).

Example of MMorph's failings:
you're trying to make A sound like B. It works spectrally, so the sound is split up into hundreds/thousands of frequency bands.
Lets say B has a nice quality around 100hz that I want to imprint on to A. But unfortunately A doesn't have much signal around 100hz
When you morph A into B, the MMorph will envelope follow B around that 100hz point we like, passing through the volume envelope nice and loud over to A.
The problem is, that it's passing through a signal in A that is not there. This is because it is not MATCHING A's signal to B, it is just passing what is in A through.
The result, is that final MMorphed output doesn't actually sound like A and B morphed, it just has some similar characteristics where frequency amplitude between A and B are both loud. It naturally works well with similar signals, but as a sound designer working a lot with monster vocalisations, I am often NOT working with signals that are similar.

If i can FREQUENCY match two signals continuously, then a whole new world opens up. Additionally, I dont care about latency at all. Even if it's a second delayed, i dont care.

That's what I dream about :)

I know what it is, I use Reaper. It requires an offline analysis of the data; the peak files Reaper makes.

What is probably better, is for you to detail exactly what it is you're suggesting, as spectral editing is something that is typically carried out by a host application, not plugins like Melda's. Perhaps you have a killer idea, but it's not clear from your suggestion what it is or how it fits into Melda's plugin approach.

...never thought much about how it worked, just used it...and otoh, I am deeply into melodyne, which probably works much the same way with all their file manipulation...and since I'm stuck for the time being in Logic, it would be really nice if they got their ARA house in order as announced last winter...soooooo, I guess I'm suggesting an ARA based spectral editor.../s~

This idea is for a general feature, not a product. It would mostly benefit MXXX users (and, who knows, maybe also MYYY?), but could also help in the next MTurboWhatever group design initiative - I could have made good use of it in building my MTurboDelay preset submission.

The idea is to have a way to display envelope shapes and modulator waveforms on the easy mode screens. These widgets need not be input devices, but they would allow for better-informed users when interacting with an easy preset.

I actually hope this comes with MYYY. Another thing that would help would be a way to bring up MODs from the easy screen.

I think with features like that in the multiparameters it would allow people to design their own fx/insturments. For example someone could design a simple 2 osc synth similar to Sylenth1 or SynthmasterOne using the easy screen. After that people could make presets for it and Vojtech could sell it. It would take very little development time for him and so it could be sold for a very reasonable price. It would be easy to make something like MTurbosynth, with an FM synth model, vintage synth models, wavetables, etc. It would allow crowd sourced development of new products(although that is already happening to an extent with the turbo series stuff).

like style, but of course with the Melda magic :ud: :P

Would be great to have MLiveLooper, a live performance multitrack looper. Flexible enough to replace Mobius, which has sadly been abandoned.

Well, I'd like to work on MYYY and mixing revolution, sort of in parallel. I just started writing some first likes for MYYY, right now it's about 8 specific lines :D. The begining of such a mega project is always the hardest...

How long do we gotta wait? A few months? A year?
