I guess that's not something you really need. Just one bell more. Anyway, currently Melda plugins have only one extra stereo input for side-chaining. AFAIK VST (is it VST3 only?) supports an unlimited number of inputs. Steinberg's use case is 5.1 surround sound input. But for creative purposes it might be fun to use different control signals for various FX parameters.
Eg. one side-chain (melody) with a pitch tracker could control the filter cut-off and another side-chain (rhythm) could modulate the filter resonance.
That's only a simple example. I'm sure that Chandler will easily come up with better uses
