I guess someone at sos felt that Tracktion's way of showing automation *is* uncommonly clear and visual.

This month's (August) issue of sos has an article on home mastering. One of the screen grabs looks suspiciously like Tracktion.

I must say Valley I have looked long and hard at that screen grab and unless someone can prove otherwise it does indeed look as if they have used Tracktion without even giving it a mentionvalley wrote:This month's (August) issue of sos has an article on home mastering. The wave form looks a bit strange though but the purple cursor, white dots and red automation curve are indeed surely from Tracktion, or an almost identical product.
It is a pity really if the guys at sound on sound were not keen on giving a mention to software that *they* may consider to be less than capable of mastering in comparison with the other products mentioned like Samplitude, Sonar and Cubase SX why use the Tracktion screen grab anyway?
I think the only other screengrab that did not get a product identification was possibly the one illustrating how to normalise in Logic. Infact the usage of the Tracktion grab shows that even at SOS they clearly see it as comparable to the other big players at least in some way.
Strange all round.
Tracktion should improve on third place this year but T2 must be out for it to take top spot.Especially with Sonar 4 possibly out by October.
Maybe someone from SOS will read this thread!

I don't know if it's been mentioned before but there's a review in the July issue of Keyboard. The guy had some good things and some bad things to say and some inaccurate things I might add. He pretty much summed it up by saying T is an entry level program. The whole article kind of irratated me some what.
