Maybe pull back a little on the rythmn synth(?) or vary it’s volume.

you mean the arps that start out at the beginning?
yes! i think i will bring it in quieter and vary the level
throughout afterward. we're on the same page on that!

Like it...definitely got potential for a big, atmospheric piece there.

Couple of points:

To my ear the opening arpeggiator riff had a subliminal edge of pitched notes about it and they clashed slightly with your underlying chord changes maybe?

Drum entry - does it need a short 'riser' section beforehand...not sure?

Look forward to hearing more!

yes, the arps need pitch attention in that sense.
and a intro for the drums are planned as i get around to
fills and other details later on in the production,

Listened to the second version and I like it! Lots of interesting sounds and variations. The guitar is interesting a bit western.

yep, i got a bit of a space cowboy in me, thats fer sure!
check out the longer update 2 wip. just need to add a few solo parts
to finish it.

I listened to temp3.mp3. Sounds pretty good although it's hard for me to judge without hearing the lead parts.

Is this how you normally work doing detailed sound design and programming before writing the melodies?

I listened to the temp3 file. For a work in progress, you have produced a nice sound bed on which to add some lead synths or even an ambient guitars line.

I like the slightly distorted sound that comes in at around the 1m 15 mark. The only thing I didn't like was the slightly off-kilter arp, the thinner sounding one, sequence that runs throughout the track, got a bit tiring. This may, however, change once you add a lead instrument.

Nice start.

thanks Tim, glad you think its coming along... leads are about 90%
so i should be posting the finished track any day now
