Why only those two products ? The problem with Arts Acoustic Reverb is that it's a very old plugin that can sometimes crash for no reason and that will never be updated anymore, even if imho it's way better than Valhalla products. If I were you I'd try a newer product such as Breeze 2 from 2C Audio...
This post is supposed to be non-agressive. Now please give me a broad smile. :ud:

Do you prefer realistic sounding spaces, like a room emulation or realistic sounding spaces?

Or are you looking for more of an effect? i.e. stuff that doesn't exist in the natural world?

The ArtsAcoustic one is very popular for EDM acts. It also sounds great. If you ask me, i could never get the Valhalla reverbs to sound proper for the sounds i do (mostly Chillout, Ambient, or Trance-y sounds). I had VRoom and Vintage Verb, sold both. If you own Spire, the included reverb of that one is ace for such sounds. In general, i'd say that rather clean reverbs will be great for EDM sounds. Also check out Tonebooster's TB-Reverb-4, which can sounds very clean as well. Won't cost a fortune either.

Valhalla for sure. You'll get support and updates for their plugins.

Is artacoustic even in business? haven't heard anything from them in years. Valhalla is the safer bet at this point.

They are. "In business" meaning that their plugins are still being sold. ;) I agree they appear a bit discontinued, but, hey, as long as there are no major issues with them. I don't know if there was some recent coding involved, but, their reverb tech is also in the Vengeance Avenger synth.

Both are good enough, it's really up to you, whichever gives you best results fastest. :tu:

If you are up to recommendations, give Xenoverb a go, good sounding, versatile and easy to use, also on a sale right now:
https://www.audiority.com/shop/xenoverb/

Shame you missed Focusrite's Collective freebie, Exponential's Audio R2 reverb, that thing is awesome, maybe find cheap second hand:
https://www.exponentialaudio.com/r2-stereo/

On a totally free side, maybe give OrilRiver a go:

Also don't discredit your DAW's stock one that easily, there's some gem's among bunch.
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

u-he's protoverb is a. free and b. a random generator for infinitely varied reverbs based on the modelling of a random physical room. some of the reverbs sound terrible, some of them sound fantastic. some of them only sound good for certain tones and instruments. but there are all kinds of different sounds so there's at least a chance of you getting one which is perfect for your purposes; if you get one you like, you can bookmark the seed for it.
