My sampling history goes way to the late 80's and early 90's. Iv'e loved recording anything with ambiance to it, spaces, ventilation systems etc.

I have so many of these recordings, i thought they'd make good sound effects for games or movies.

What would be the best format for for post production or whatever they do in games? My OG intuition says .wav with acid loop points is probably the best option.

What would be the best way to release the material to people these days?

TIA

24 bit wavs, acid points not necessary but useful for some people.

Detunized seem to do this in a very professional way - they have 24 bit/48 kHz and 24/96 versions, and detailed metadata. But they are aiming for broadcast, not games.

If you can do really high sample rates, the files will still have high frequency content when played back at half speed, which is probably very useful for horror or sci-fi games. But if you can't, they should still be useful for a lot of things.

Yes Wav format 16 or 24 bit no need for Acid loop points
