BFD in Tracktion

ok, im new to bfd and know little about tracktion, i have set my reason 2.5 up as a rewire device in tracktion, and im happy with it. Just i dont know how to go about setting BFD up, i added it to the plug-ins and it appears in the filters (all, groups, stereo).
Now my problem/dumbness, i want to be able to use BFD in tracktion to trigger the groove templates in BFD and also play the actual drums and hear what I am playing. When I set it up so BFD is running as a vst it doesnt allow me to play with my keyboard...(i tried BFD in standalone mode and my keys triggered it). I have to hit record... i record random notes, then when i playback on the same track with an audio output i get the sounds? is like i have to tell tracktion what i want to play, while never getting to play it direct in BFD, maby that process is normal, but i just need some help I have searched every single forum, and looked for guides

Maby this is something really simple, i just dont know the softwear amazingly well

make sure you have e-to-e enabled so that you can hear the sounds while playing them - without needing to push record

make also sure you either use the stereo out on a track or the all / group out + patch pay or put them inside a rackfilter
