Q: MXXX / Filter - how to use it?

MXXX (and MPowerSynth) has a module named Filter which is a side-chain following filter, using the amplitude of the side-chain signal to drive (Cut-Off) Frequency, Resonance, Gain or Character of the filter, depending on the type of filter selected.

Well, I've read the Info, tried several things but cannot get the filter to do what I would expect. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or provide an MXXX preset that shows what it can do?

try adding an LFO module and then connect the LFO to the sidechain. Now adjust the max frequency, etc.

... still nothing - I must be doing it wrong ;)

I think Chandler was talking about something like this MXXX patch: (drop it on a midi track - it's MPS into the filter module with an LFO sidechain, making a filter sweep). Note that since I'm using an LFO, I needed to change the sidechain min/max to go from -1 to 1 instead of 0 to 1, and also note that it not only modulates the cutoff from min to max, but the resonance from min to max as well.

Of course, there's no need to do this with MPS since MPS has its own filters, but this is just a "lab example", so to speak.

AH ha, that makes sense. Thank you.

I've nudged a couple of values (increase Cutoff and decrease Resonance as the side-chain increases) and added "Before" (blue) and "after" (red MultiAnalysers to show the result:
