I use two keyboards. The main one for testing sounds and general purpose is an Axiom 25. The other for 'serious' playing is a M-Audio 88-key. I have a certain number of plugin synths. Across all of them the keyboard response does not vary. as such I'm used to playing at a certain velocity and expect a certain responsiveness, for all the synths for the Axiom 25. But with MSF and also with MPowerSynth although much less, the response is very different. Playing smoothly yields notes that are very low in volume (when compared to other synths) and when playing just a bit harder the volume goes up by quite a lot. In other words I'm a bit at lost when it comes to playing with MSF.
With MPowerSynth the same phenomenon can happen, but much less severe. For many sounds it's all right.
So then what I do is to alter the velocity curve in the Advanced Settings to try to find what I'm used to with other synths although 1) it does not really yield the same effect and 2) there's an expression trade off.
Does anyone experience something similar when comparing with the response from other synths, for a given MIDI keyboard ?

It indeed cannot be changed for sake of backwards compatibility in MPS. We can change it for MSF though. Now please try to make a little project consisting of several short notes with linearly increasing velocity from 0 to max. And then create a simple sine instrument in some instrument AND in MSF and render the results and please send them to me. I'll check how they differ.
