Error with T7 Loop Comping

I have T7 32 bit running on Windows 10.

Using Loop recording I made 10 takes.

After recording I display all takes for comping.
As soon as I select a section of one clip the entire section of the screen where the clips were displayed turns red and the message "(can't read this file)" appears. The wave forms of the clips are not visible, but I can still select sections of clips and play them. The image of the clips may eventually return. CPU usage (as displayed in the upper right) is very low.

Any thoughts on why this is happening and how to make it stop?

It sounds like the addition of the clips is being accidently undone internally. Can you try doing something else like moving an unrelated clip (or creating a MIDI clip and deleting it) before making comp edits?
