MConvolutionMB: 2 problems

Hi! I'm using the Test Tone/ Record mechanism a lot. (to make my own IR's of effectchains/reverbs etc).
Which is a really totally cool "extra" stroke-of-genius-option hidden somewhere in MConvolutionMB.
But I encounter 2 problems:
1) If I spike a reverb-like signal of say 5 seconds the resulting IR is just a bit to short, part of the reverb-tail gets cut of. I guess it's cleans the recording if sound level goes below a certain threshold. I think the problem would be solved if the user could set this threshold. (maybe it's there, but couldn't find it).
Found a workaround: send a 2nd test tone after 5seconds, stop recording, use a soundeditor to shorten the resulting IR. But this is clearly more time-consuming, and takes away some of the magic ;-)
2) You need to have 2 instances open of MConvolutionMB; + the Advanced Settings sub-windows. On 1 monitor it's really a lot of shuffling to get this workable. I would like to hide a lot of the windows; actually, I would really like to see a dedicated plugin for just this. Not much needed: input/recording channels and testtone/record buttons.
Thanks!

Problem 2 is solved if you update.
The test tone and record buttons are now in the main window.

Really? Not in the Windows 12.05 version, downloaded yesterday. Also not in Mac version 12.05, just tried. Are you using a beta?

Yes, it's in the beta, coming up this week I hope, but I postponed this one so many times already, that I'm not sure anymore :D.
And as for 1) You probably need to just wait a bit. The plugin probably detects initial threshold, so since your reverb is already fading down, it's considered "the threshold". If there would be a dedicated threshold control, there would also be some pseudoreverb tail before the actual IR, because that's what happens in your case.

Sorry for late reply, didn't use this for a while. Yes! problem 2) is much better now, also easier to see the just saved IR.
Problem 1) Is still there; I'm not sure if I understand what you wrote about that; but I would like to have a setting like: "stop recording when -xxxdB is reached", xxxdB being -90dB or so.Plugin is cutting of the recording at ~-60dB now. Start of the recording usually cut-off just fine.
Thanks

Then how about just a simple gain? ;)

You mean like:
-Testtone from MBConvolver 1
-FX
-Gain +30dB
-Record with MBconvolver2

That's a lot of gain, my first thought is "ouch, that will give loads of distortion", but maybe I'm thinking too analogue, and will the 32bit float take care if it (?).

I will try this,very interesting suggestion ;-)

Exactly! And no, no worries, that's the beauty of floating point operations without the analog madness ;).

And yes, it works perfectly now. Thanks! Problems solved.
