Is it impossible to manually assign MIDI CCs to plugin/whatever parameters? I can't seem to find a way.
MIDI Learn is no use. I have an XY controller pad that absolutely insists on sending an X value before any Y values, so always registers the X CC no matter what convoluted method I use to touch it.
(Also, I'll admit I'm thick but it took me 2 hours to figure out how to remove an assignment! Can we get a context menu in the MIDI Controller Mappings properties or something?! )
Manual CC assignment (or "MIDI Teach", if you will)

You might be able to use one of the Pizmidi cc filter plugins to block whatever cc# that X-axis is sending to get the Y-axis to register for midi learn. The pizmidi site seems to be down so I have used waybackmachine to find the last good state here https://web.archive.org/web/20180225171 ... ?p=pizmidi . I know this is a cumbersome workaround, that may not even work either.

Thanks dude. There are workarounds a plenty: I just created 2 button controllers (TouchOSC on android) with the same CCs as the XY to do the assignments. It was just another TW headscratcher that had me screaming at the screen again "what? why? why not?". lol
