I certainly hope so too. I would also like to encourage upgrading to an SSD. :-) They are not expensive nowadays.

Sorry Calle, I found a v2 project that doesn't load right with v3.05. I get a warning "Sinc32" and one instance (of two in the project) doesn't load any content. No samples, no groups, nothing at all. Doesn't crash, just doesn't load anything. The other instance works fine.

Win7 32, Reaper 5.961

Should I send you the project and if so, do you need the samples? What's the best way to package it up for you?

Post

Yes please. Include the samples.
Put on a file host or similar if it is large. If you are concerned about the content being public, you can PM me the link.

Okay, will do tomorrow. Just realised I don't actually know which samples to include so I guess I'll have to reinstall v2 to find out. Congrats on V3 though! Teething troubles aside it's looking really good. :)

@IXIX: I think I might know what is wrong in your case. If 3.0.6 is out before you send the files, please try it out first.

Yeah, I know. My entire system's long overdue for an upgrade so I'm not really keen on sinking any money into this machine.

Yup, 3.06 fixed it. Nice one! :)

Yes! 3.0.6. loads TONS faster and my 11GB project is now down to 1369MB (!). Not without a lot of disk streaming dropouts of course, but I'm guessing that might have to do with a lot of samples being triggered at the same time that aren't supposed to sound at once (due to the missing RR and layer crossfading functionality). Awesome work!

Whoa, whoa, here's something potentially troubling.

I decided to save my 11GB orchestral REAPER project to a new file so that I can play around with it while still having the option to go back to the TX v2 version. And upon hitting the save button TX starts re-saving ALL samples in all instances of the plugin. Why does it do this and what's it done to the samples that warrants re-saving them?

Sorry, my general lack of sleep lately is starting to show. And inverted condition got snuck in with the SF2 fixes. :-(

I am to tired to do a full release drop right now, but I've updated the 3.0.6 build with a fix. Re-download and it should be version 3.0.6 5047.1433.

The RR switches should work now. At least they load fine for me. Any cross-fade will still always play two notes, so that does not really help. However, at least the programs on disk in the archive you gave me don't seem to have any cross fades, neither regions or modulation?
Is it in the project only?

If you are getting DFD dropouts, I'm guessing it is the spinning disk. I shall try to add a DFD buffer selector. It might help to bump it. I've run rather heavy arrangements on a spinning USB disk even with the current settings, but YMMV.

Btw, you can already (if you dare) set the DFD buffer size in settings.ini using a text editor. I would not recommend going below 4096, and it should be a power of two, so 4096, 8192, 16384 etc. Your memory usage and load time will increase, but dropouts disappear.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to refrain from doing any more testing right now, as I suspect there might be an issue with my samples HDD (I'm getting similar lousy DFD performance in Kontakt Player). So I'll need to investigate that before I comment any further on v3.
