User-defined pattern Presets

Hi there,

I have been exploring the creation of user-defined rhythm patterns for chords (and bass) in the pattern generator. The issue is very briefly touched on in the latest version of the manual; and sometimes also quickly mentioned in a few videos - usually with a quick "man, this is a really powerful feature".

Anyway, I wonder if there is a more detailed explanation or tutorial about it somewhere?

I have worked out that when, in the manual, it says "select midi you want to use" in fact you have to actually select each of the notes, not just the clip!!

One thing that I am stumped on though is the first pop-up when you create a preset - "chord length"??

I have left it at the default 4 beats and it seems to work, at least when the chord changes in the pattern the preset is applied to are 1 bar (ie 4 beats) long. But what happens if you change it to say 3 beats and save that? Or apply a "4 beat" preset to a 2 bar-per chord progression? And how can you tell what the "chörd length" of any saved pattern is?

Look forward to hearing from the power users of this feature for some guidance as it does indeed seem as though it could be "really powerful" if only I knew how it worked.

Thanks.
